Melissa Mayeux first female player added to MLB's International Registration List

French teen is invited the MLB Europe Elite Camp in Hoopfddorp from August 3rd to the 20th, could be the first women to sign a professional contract with an MLB organization.

Didier Seminet, FFBS President: “It's an historic day for baseball. It's the first time ever that Major League Baseball add a women to its international registration list which means Mélissa Mayeux could be the first women ever to sign a professional contract within MLB. It's also a great example of egality between men and women in sports. Congratulations to Mélissa who is breaking barriers one after another on the French stage as well as on the international stage.”

Stephen Lesfargues, National Technical Director: “If Melissa is where she is at now it's because she has given herself the means to succeed. This recognition comes from the field first as Melissa has proved in the Toulouse Baseball Academy and wherever she played that she has all the abilities to compete at the highest level and become a future champion. Congratulations to her, she inspires respect to everyone today and charts a path that every women can follow. May she be the example that nothing is impossible for young males and females at the French Baseball & Softball Federation."

Mélissa MAYEUX 2015 Summer schedule:
Mélissa Mayeux will be at MLB's Hitting and Pitching Mini Camp in Paderborn (Germany) from June the 29th to July the 3rd.
She will participate to the U18 European Baseball Championship in Ostrava (Czech Republic) from July the 13th to the 19th, becoming the first women ever to play this competition.
She will participate to the European Senior Softball Championship in Rosmalen (Netherlands) from July the 19th to the 25th.
She will participate to the MLB Europe Elite Camp in Hoopfddorp (Netherlands) from August the 3rd to the 20th.
