Brest Zubrs Visit

On February, 23rd 2011 Gijs Selderijk (Director for development of baseball
and softball in the Netherlands) arrived in Belarus to carry out the CEB Promoter Course. He visited Brest town and the sports facilities of Brest in which the baseball players have their home: the baseball stadium such as a track and field athletics arena in which practices are held during the winter period. He also spent some time doing practical work with trainers and all youth teams of the club.
Gijs Selderijk had visited Brest for the first time in 1999 when baseball in the city just began to grow and helped the local people to form the club and team “Brest Zubrs”. Back in Belarus he is now very impressed by the work that has been done by the club management and the coaches, who developed a well organized club with youth teams that are the necessary base for a great future of baseball in Brest.
During his stay in Brest GijsSelderijk has given an interview to the regional media which can be read in the next issue of “The Evening Brest”. On 2. March 2011 he can be seen in the program “About Sports” on TV channel “LAD”.
Within the limits of the cultural program, Gijs Selderijk has visited the Belovezhskaya Pushcha forest and the Belarussian Santa Claus residence. He accepted best regards of successes and prosperity for the European baseball from Santa Claus’ lips and the Snow Maiden.
