European Cup San Marino: Amsterdam, Bologna finish on Top
By: www.mister-baseball.comUnipol Bologna finished the European Cup in San Marino with a 14-3 blowout over the Hoboken Pioneers. After four wins in five days Fortitudo again advanced to the European Champions Cup Final Four. Claudio Liverziani led the way by going 2-for-3 with two homeruns, four runs scored and three RBI. Takahiko Sato (4 RBI) and Alessandro Vaglio (3 RBI) also went deep for Bologna. Dennis De Quindt accounted for all three Pioneers runs with a RBI double and a two-run homerun. Jesus Matos struck out ten in five innings for the win. Terrence Antonacci took the loss.
L&D Amsterdam followed Unipol Bologna to the Final Four with a lopsided 16-4 victory over Draci Brno. Rashid Gerard, Percy Isenia (4-5, 3 runs, 5 RBI) and Wesley Connor hit homeruns. Bjorn Hato crossed the plate four times. Pavel Budsky went deep for Brno. Rob Cordemans pitched five solid innings for the win. Jakub Izold was charged with the loss.
Jairo Ramos and Mattia Reginato belted homeruns for T&A San Marino in a 7-3 victory over the Untouchables Padeborn. After winning the European Champions Cup in 2011, San Marino ended up in third place and missing the Final Four one year later. Yulman Ribeiro struck out 12 batters in seven innings to pick up the win. Kyle Botha homered for Paderborn. Daniel Rahn received the loss.
